Stones extracted from the top of Nokogiriyama were slid down to the mountainside using slopes called Toi Michi.
Toi Michi was always built along with stone stairs, and they functioned as a foothold for the workers who controlled the speed of stones sliding down. They were also used as commuting corridor for workers from the base to get to the quarry in the mornings and the evenings.
